Engagement Session in Downtown Williamsburg | Derek + Victoria

Engagement Session in Downtown Williamsburg | Derek + Victoria

It was a long trip for Derek and Victoria, but they drove all the way down from northern Virginia to Williamsburg, a city incredibly sentimental to her, so we could spend time capturing what life looks like before they get married in August. If there’s anything I learned about these two while they were together, it’s that they can so easily make each other laugh. And if there’s anything I’ve learned about marriage in over 8 years, is that laughing with your spouse is the best way to work through conflict and remember again why you fell in love.

Downtown Williamsburg is beautiful, with brick buildings and hidden gardens almost everywhere. The area was full of people, so we got to explore some roads I’ve never visited and chase the golden sunset light. Victoria’s flowy dress and sweet flower comb were the perfect complement to the blooms that are taking over Williamsburg. As spring melts into summer and their wedding inches closer, Derek and Victoria are excited to be together - and even more excited to say their I do’s…

Cape Henry Lighthouse Engagement Session | Tim + Naomi

Cape Henry Lighthouse Engagement Session | Tim + Naomi

Tim and Naomi met at a wedding about three years ago, and after their first date they never looked back. It was a fun challenge to shoot in a tiny space surrounded by windows, and I love that their engagement pictures are truly unique. Afterwards we caught the Spanish moss and golden light at First Landing. The weather was perfect and it was an unforgettable day…

Intimate Wedding at Historic St. Luke's in Smithfield | Kyle + Camille

From the very beginning of their relationship, Kyle and Camille decided to take things slowly. They were friends before they started dating. They chose not to rush into marriage even though that meant being long-distance for awhile. Every step of the way involved careful thought and planning, but after several years together they realized they never wanted to be apart. Around Thanksgiving Kyle brought Camille to the Cape Henry lighthouse to ask her to be his wife, and before they knew it their wedding day had arrived.

Rather than planning the biggest wedding possible, Kyle and Camille wanted an intimate party with a long, meaningful ceremony and only a handful of people in attendance. These are the people who have supported them thus far, and promised last Saturday to continue walking alongside them in their marriage journey…
