Windsor Castle Park Wedding | Smithfield Wedding Photographer | Stephen + Anne-Stuart

Normally, 200+ people at a wedding wouldn’t be remarkable, but in 2021 it was a number worth celebrating all on its own! Stephen and Anne Stuart filled Windsor Castle Park with hundreds of people who love and support them individually and as a couple, and the love their guests had for these two showed. The ceremony was sweet and the wedding reception was one for the books - I’ve never seen so many people who knew how to actually dance in one single place!

Meanwhile, Stephen and Anne Stuart simply sat back and enjoyed the day. They were calm, relaxed, and of course beyond happy to finally get married. They laughed at moments that could have been stressful, danced hard as the band played, and made the most of each minute they spent together. While all the details were certainly beautiful, the most important piece - their marriage - stayed central to it all…

Historic St. Luke's Micro Wedding | Smithfield Wedding | Tom + Missy

Tom and Missy, like so many couples, were planning a big wedding with all of their family and friends this fall…and then 2020 happened, and everything had to change. Although Sunday wasn’t quite the day they envisioned, it was still perfect in every way, from the intimate guest list to the beautiful weather to the smiles that these two couldn’t wipe off their faces if they tried.

There’s something both simple and beautiful about an elopement, and this small wedding at Historic St. Luke’s in the heart of Smithfield captured the best parts of a pared-down day. The details were still stunning, the family and friends who came were very near and dear to Tom and Missy, and at the end of it all these two were MARRIED - which is the best part of the celebration!

None of us can wait to get back to life and weddings as normal, but until then, days like these are a reminder that even 2020 is filled with small silver linings. Congratulations, Tom and Missy!

This year was different than any other, in a lot of good ways. I got to photograph two gorgeous elopements, one at Fort Monroe Beach and one at The Historic Post Office in Hampton. I had two military weddings, my first Jewish wedding, and almost zero travel all year long…and as much as I love travel, it was wonderful to sleep in my bed the night after a wedding most of the time!

Each time I approach a wedding, I put pressure on myself to do something different. I truly want to capture the individual personalities of the bride, groom, and their friends and family, because no two weddings are the same…and they shouldn’t look like each other, either! Fortunately, when I walk into weddings and already know the couple from their engagement session, it’s easy to remember why I love them as a couple and why they love each other. From there, each pose and each moment is completely individual, and while I will always take the smiling-at-the-camera family pictures, so many of the in-betweens are uniquely beautiful to every day…
