Historic Polegreen Church Maternity Pictures | Josiah + Megan

It’s been a strange season of life for a lot of people, but when I think about handling the unexpected, those who are pregnant and giving birth right now always come to my mind. Of course, this is probably because my little sister Megan is expecting a baby boy at the end of August, and this pregnancy has come with far more ups and downs than is usual to say the least! She and Josiah, her husband of just over two years, have handled the changes with grace and hope. They have been understandably disappointed in some areas without denying their feelings, and yet their faith in God and their unity in marriage has never been more evident, either.

It’s a moment when a bride can remember exactly why she’s getting married - and get excited about how much more amazing the wedding day will be…

I would count many of these among my friends, and in fact some were friends first before they ever became clients! This year I saw babies born, families move across the country, and new life announced for the first time. I got to meet people who I never would have otherwise spoken to, and reconnect with others from throughout the past 9 years in Hampton Roads.

What a privilege it is to capture the joy of a family as they grow or a couple as they look towards beginning a new life together after waiting for so long. What an honor to take pictures of past brides and grooms as they progress from the newlywed phase to being more established as a couple…
