First Landing State Park Fall Engagement | Jeff + Jenna

First Landing State Park Fall Engagement | Jeff + Jenna

The stars, weather, and flights aligned to make Jeff and Jenna’s engagement session happen. They were flying in from Austin, Texas, to attend a friend’s wedding on a quick weekend trip, so as soon as they landed at the Norfolk Airport they headed over to First Landing State Park to meet me for engagement pictures. We had no backup rain plan but the weather was perfect, and despite a long day of travel they were relaxed, happy, and ready to capture their love.

Jeff and Jenna are hilarious together - it’s always a good thing when the three of us are trying hard not to crack up during pictures! They have a shared love for their dogs, adventure, and each other, and with the decade they have spent together as a couple, there is a solid foundation for their future lives together. As they reflected on the move from Hampton Roads to Austin, the thing that has kept them grounded, sane, and joyful through it all is their relationship and support for each other.

Woolen Mill Wedding | Fredericksburg, Virginia | Will + Caroline

Woolen Mill Wedding | Fredericksburg, Virginia | Will + Caroline

This day will forever stand out in my mind as the most Virginia Tech-themed wedding I have ever seen - and that’s saying something, considering I graduated from there years ago! Will and Caroline fell in love on the Blacksburg campus where they went to college, so when it came time to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted it to feel like home, even in Fredericksburg. The reception was covered in the names of their favorite locations (Duck Pond Drive! Prices Fork Road!), and dozens of friends from college came to celebrate - we even got a VT picture on the back steps of the venue!

Will, Caroline, and their friends know how to have fun - I have never seen a dance floor fill up that quickly! - and their bridal party kept us laughing all day long. The ladies looked beautiful in coordinating green dresses, Caroline’s emotional first look with her dad made everyone a little teary-eyed, and the day flowed smoothly from start to finish thanks to their easygoing nature and the planner team from Occasions by M & K. The Inn at Old Silk Mill’s newest venue, Woolen Mill, is sure to become a Fredericksburg favorite…

Windsor Castle Park Wedding | Smithfield Wedding Photographer | Stephen + Anne-Stuart

Normally, 200+ people at a wedding wouldn’t be remarkable, but in 2021 it was a number worth celebrating all on its own! Stephen and Anne Stuart filled Windsor Castle Park with hundreds of people who love and support them individually and as a couple, and the love their guests had for these two showed. The ceremony was sweet and the wedding reception was one for the books - I’ve never seen so many people who knew how to actually dance in one single place!

Meanwhile, Stephen and Anne Stuart simply sat back and enjoyed the day. They were calm, relaxed, and of course beyond happy to finally get married. They laughed at moments that could have been stressful, danced hard as the band played, and made the most of each minute they spent together. While all the details were certainly beautiful, the most important piece - their marriage - stayed central to it all…
