I Never Thought I'd Do this, But... | Personal

I think you can easily guess the topic for this blog post. Through the years, especially prior to becoming a parent, there are things I swore I would never do. This involved a certain amount of pride (are my standards really that much higher than everyone else’s?) and just some general ignorance about why I might make decisions in one way versus another. In the interest of full disclosure and my constant pursuit of humility (and humor), I thought I would look back on some of the things I promised not to do…and have since decided there is a better way :) Enjoy a blog at my expense!

Hurricane Florence was a nightmare for so many people last weekend, and continues to cause devastation throughout the Carolinas and beyond. The severity of what could have been in Virginia was sobering, so when it looked like the eye of the storm was heading for Hampton Roads, everything shut down - people evacuated, plans were cancelled, and everyone settled in for the unknown. And then - nothing happened. There was hardly any rain, let alone a hurricane, and just like that everything was back to normal.

For Harrison and Lauren, their entire wedding was changed. At the last minute they were left without a venue or a plan. A day that should have been at the Planter’s Club was suddenly moved to his parents’ house. Vendors changed, the vision was different, and truthfully, everyone should have been emotional on Saturday - and not necessarily in a good way!

How I Overcame My Biggest Weakness | Business

The more appropriate title for this blog should be "How I Overcame My Biggest Wedding Photography Weakness," but I was going for something a bit shorter and simpler that would still get the point across. I know I personally have a TON of weaknesses that I'm still working on, so I won't pretend to have that all figured out! However, when I was just beginning wedding photography, my biggest weakness became apparent very quickly and for awhile, even thinking about it terrified me to the core.
