Vintage Literary Engagement Session | Virginia Beach Engagement Photographer | Bryan + Joni

Through no fault of their own, Bryan and Joni just happened to schedule their engagement session for the coldest day of winter so far! But with Bryan leaving in a few days for his home state of California, we decided to put a big smile on and make the most of the cold and wind. It ended up being a beautiful day - the sun shone, the light was perfect, and these two got to snuggle and drink coffee together the whole time...

This was the engagement session that almost didn't happen! Stephen and Laura are from Virginia, but last year Stephen's job moved him all the way out to Utah. As Laura was making plans to follow him across the country, he was making plans to buy a ring and propose - and of course, she said yes. Best of 2015: Rings | Business

I have a confession: I did something kind of silly. Last year I invest in the 105mm macro, which I pull out for approximately 5-10 minutes during weddings and engagements. And let’s just say…it was a pretty big investment. This year, I wanted to make sure the lens was worth what I paid – so I worked on getting killer ring shots first to serve my brides and grooms, and then to push myself creatively!

What happened was fantastic for me and for my couples. With each engagement session or wedding, I continued to find new places for the rings – my absolute favorite this year has been the shots in tulle. Scroll down to see what I mean! So without further ado, here is some eye candy…and a whole lot of justification for buying that lens ;)
