2016 Rio Olympics Styled Shoot | Business

Is anyone else in the grip of Olympics fever? I know I am! I adore watching the Olympics and it kills me that I have to wait 4 years in between. I kind of wish I was in Rio de Janeiro right now to see it all, but maybe one day...

With the whole country watching in silent anticipation of all the medals we will win, Chelsea with Tidewater and Tulle wanted to put together an adorable date night for couples watching the Olympics together. With help from the wonderful Alison of Montero's Restaurant in Elizabeth City, these two came up with a menu and decorations that anyone wanting a Brazilian themed dinner to go along with their fixation on gymnastics (obviously the best sport).

When this dream team asked me to not only photograph the shoot but taste some of the incredible dishes that Andy, their chef, put together, I did not hesitate to say yes. Enjoy this amazing Olympics-themed dinner - and know that it tasted even better than it looked ;)

Southern Living + Other Recent Features | Business

During my trip to Africa a few weeks ago, I remained as present as possible by continuing business 'as normal' so I would be focused on what I was doing and not what I had to post. While I was there I received email after email about new features for weddings and more! Since I could not share them all - and there were so many! - I now want to highlight each one of them because I am so grateful that other websites and blogs choose to share my work! And...I GOT FEATURED IN SOUTHERN LIVING!!!

So without further ado, here are some of my recent features...

How We Work as a Husband/Wife Team | Business

Photography is something I never pushed Nathan into, and never wanted to. I had an idea in my head since I first started my business to become a husband/wife photography team, but I knew if it happened it would happen organically - and not because I even asked him to. Almost two years ago at my first destination wedding in Charlottesville (at the Trump Winery, no less!) Nathan came with me for a mini weekend getaway and after second shooting one of the most perfect weddings ever, he was hooked.

Now Nathan is my second shooter at nearly every single wedding I photograph. He has his own day job but chooses to selflessly sacrifice his time on the weekends to make my dream into a reality. Not only that, but he also took a new role in my business since last fall - reviewing blog posts, making business plans and decisions, and even all the shooting and editing for my (our!) SEO Video Training.

When we get to weddings we completely fall in the groove and I wanted to share what that looks like! Here's how the day goes with my wonderful husband as the second photographer... (Note: All pictures in this blog except those of Nathan are ones that HE took! Be impressed!)
