For a long time Kenny and Mackenzie didn't look twice at each other. He was just the guy who worked for her dad, and she was away at college. But on one fateful day several years ago Kenny made a trip to visit her and they began to fall in love over Mellow Mushroom pizza and rich conversations. Eventually they would begin dating, get engaged, and buy a house together, but they never could have predicted any of it would happen when they first laid eyes on each other.
Their wedding day was uniquely gorgeous and absolutely relaxed from start to finish. They had the privilege of being the FIRST wedding at the Smithfield Winery and after seeing the setup, I know brides will be flocking to this stunning new venue! Blush peonies were the highlight of Mackenzie's all-wood bouquet (no, I'm not kidding!) and her dress was simply amazing, with all-over lace and a train that stretched for miles. Beyond that, these two took the most of every opportunity for pictures (I counted at least 4 separate times we took bride and groom portraits!) and they prioritized fun and comfort over stress on a day that flowed smoothly throughout.
You HAVE to see all the fun details below (a giant Connect Four, pizza for dinner, and custom Coke bottles are just a few favorites!) and admire a wedding that was planned down to the smallest detail yet highlighted the couple throughout.
Kenny and Mackenzie, can we just go back to your wedding day every weekend?! I loved seeing your interactions with each other, your family, and your friends. It's obvious that you two value the most important things and choose not to worry about the rest. Keep that attitude, and your love for each other, and your marriage will be both joyful and lasting. Congratulations!

After Mackenzie got dressed she was more than ready to see her groom for their first look.
Before we knew it we were heading to the ceremony, with an even more amazing experience ahead!
There was a lovely break between the ceremony and reception. Guests could explore downtown Smithfield, hang out at a local bar or restaurant, and enjoy the town while we got to photograph tons more bride and groom portraits and capture all the reception details before the party started again!
Believe it or not, all of these portraits were taken INDOORS! The light in the winery is incredible, and I'm obsessed with the exposed brick and wooden doors!
I loved having some vintage furniture for portraits, and this next one might be my FAVORITE!
Once guests arrived the venue brought out a charcuterie board so they could have hors d'oeuvres while they waited for dinner.
There were a ton of games and activities for the guests to enjoy, and it couldn't have been a more perfect day to be outside!
Instead of traditional name cards, each guest had a custom Coke bottle - and did I mention there was pizza?!
Before the sun set we went outside for one last portrait session on the docks by the water.
The night finished out with laughter, dancing, and a few sweet moments to make the day that much more wonderful.
