I can very vividly remember the day Nathan proposed to me. I was expecting it to happen at some point, but I didn't know when. The moment he got down on one knee I was overcome with emotion and started crying so hard I forgot to say yes for several minutes. This was over 7 years ago, before hiring a photographer for the proposal was normal, and yet he had done just that and our emotions were captured forever. I'm so grateful it's a day I can always look back on through memories and pictures that we have.
Because of this, I was incredibly excited when Giff and I started talking about photographing his upcoming proposal. He and his girlfriend Taylor live in South Carolina but were taking a trip up the East Coast to visit family and have a fun vacation. Her favorite place in the world is Colonial Williamsburg, so he knew he had to propose in front of one of the best spots there - the Governor's Mansion.
That morning he was a bit more nervous than he imagined, but plans went smoothly nonetheless. I hid behind a tree, people cleared out of view, and the moment Giff got down on his knee was absolutely beautiful. Taylor, shaking with excitement, said yes, and we commemorated one of the most special days in their lives thus far. Congratulations, you two!
