Trump Winery Wedding | Charlottesville Wedding Photographer | Chris + Sarah

My heart is full. 2017 was truly an amazing year, and ending the season with Chris and Sarah's wedding at the Trump Winery Grand Hall was simply the icing on the cake. Sarah is truly an incredible human being. Life has thrown her curveballs but each time she has come back stronger and happier than ever. I met her in college but didn't know her story until I read this article from her CrossFit gym, which made my admiration for her grow all the more. I couldn't wait for their wedding, and after a postponement for Chris' deployment in the navy, everyone was more than ready for the day to arrive.

Sarah, determined and strong, trained for months to be able to WALK down the aisle with her dad. That moment is one I will never forget. With a smile on her face, Sarah stood up, leaned on the man who raised her, and walked to meet her groom. Chris, caught between tears and unspeakable joy, waited for his bride at the end of the aisle.

Besides the incredible emotions that ran throughout the day, the wedding was simply stunning from start to finish...

Willow's 6-Month Update | Personal

Ohhhh where do I even begin with this one?! For some reason, 6 months has seemed like a huge milestone in her life. When we first brought her home I remember thinking with awe about how, in just six months, she would probably be sitting up and eating solid foods, among other milestones. Now that we are here and she is doing just that, I've caught myself reminiscing so many times about how tiny she was when we first brought her home.

My last update was over 2 months ago, which in baby terms was a lifetime, so here are all the new developments and exciting things going on in Willow's life now that she is halfway to one!

On the adoption front...

Best of Families 2017 | Business

While most of my sessions are for engaged and married couples or on wedding days, I have the pleasure of photographing many families over the course of the year. It is a joy to capture memories for people that I know and those I meet for the first time at their session. 2017 has brought everyone from couples who are expecting their first child to parents of four beautiful children.

At every session, no matter how many kids are around, I make sure that mom and dad have pictures of just the two of them to share and enjoy for years to come. Eventually, as hard as it is to believe, the kids will grow older and move out and only two will remain. Seeing the strength of these relationships, whether just a few years long or 50 years deep, is probably the greatest honor of them all.

So, without further ado, enjoy just a few of SO many favorite family portraits from 2017!
