Tears flowed freely at Taylor and Cynthia's wedding, from the first look to the moment Taylor saw her walking down the aisle to the heartfelt speeches that happened during the reception. These two started dating less than a year ago, but they immediately knew they wanted to spend their lives together. On a beautiful fall day they pledged to do just that, and their love was obvious from the moment they first laid eyes on each other all the way until the last dance.

The wedding itself carried beautiful touches of sparkly gold for Cynthia's fun personality to a classic navy palette, with adorable gold bottles decorating the sanctuary and an all-white bridal bouquet that was a knockout despite the limitations of finding flowers after a hurricane! There was not a cloud in the sky all day, and the sun wrapped Taylor and Cynthia with warmth as they shared a sweet first look at Regent University, where her father has worked for over 20 years.

Their ceremony was centered around not just their love for each other, but their mutual love for God and their desire to have Him first in their relationship. It was a beautiful way to start a marriage, and I was honored to be a part of it...

The Best Change I've Made to My Phone | Personal

The Best Change I've Made to My Phone | Personal

My phone is constantly buzzing, ringing, and making noise. I love this. I love knowing that an email just came across, or that someone sent a text because they were thinking about me. While I have established pretty good boundaries around social media and not being on Facebook or Instagram all day, I still pick up my phone every few minutes to respond.

I didn't see any problem with this until Willow came home. Then I realized that I was letting other people dictate my day more than myself. If she was crying and a notification pinged, I felt guilty for not responding right away. If she was in a good mood and a text came across, I would interrupt our playtime to answer.

The thing is, nobody expects me to do this...

It is often true that opposites attract and at first glance, this is exactly what happened in Scott and Jenny's relationship. She is outgoing, he is reserved. She is chatty, he is a man of few words. Yet the more time I spent with them, the more I realized how similar they are. Both have the same goofy sense of humor. Both have smiles that could light up a room, smiles that they share freely with each other. Both care for each other deeply, and their love is obvious with every word and interaction.

Downtown Norfolk is one of my favorite places for an engagement session, and this night was no exception. The sun shone through the trees onto the cobblestone streets near Cure Coffeehouse, and the waterside was lit up with its reflection as it sank lower by the minute. With adorable houses, tall trees, and the Norfolk shoreline in the background, this was a perfect reflection of the beauty this city has to offer and a gorgeous backdrop to celebrate Scott and Jenny's relationship as they step closer to the wedding each day.
