Brien & Aimee's Proposal // Suffolk Engagement Photographer

Oh my goodness! I'm pretty sure the title of this post speaks for itself. This week I got the absolute honor of photographing Brien's proposal to Aimee. I have known Aimee for a few years and Brien for a little less than that, and their story together is incredible! Brien wanted to surprise Aimee with a sweet proposal, and did it as any production tech at a church would - on video (sort of).

Brien had made a video in advance, and tricked Aimee into showing up at the Harbour View Campus of Liberty Baptist Church. Once she got there, some friends brought her into the Worship Center, where Brien had everything set up. He and I hid behind the screen so Aimee wouldn't see us, and he started the video.

The video was so sweet and talked about how much Brien loves Aimee and how he wants to be a part of her life, forever. At the end, Brien walked (I sprinted!) out from behind the screen, dropped down on one knee, and proposed. I'm pretty sure Aimee was saying yes by the time the last few words were out of his mouth ;)

Congratulations, Brien and Aimee! I'm so blessed to know both of you, and can't wait for your WEDDING in a few months and for your future together! I love you both!

PJ & Krista // Norfolk Military Photographer

I know deep in my hear that photography will never grow old. Styles change, people come and go, but the essence of capturing the most precious moment of a person's day, year, or life will never be outdated. I was absolutely honored to witness one of the most special moments I've seen so far.

PJ had been out to sea on the USS Bainbridge for about 7 months. In that time, Krista not only survived but thrived, and gave birth to their first child - a sweet little girl. Then, on a rainy day in Norfolk, Virginia, PJ & Krista's entire little family was reunited again. Each new mom was led up to the deck for some one-on-one time when their husband first got off the ship.

The moment PJ saw his family, his eyes lit up. And when he came out, I had to hold back tears while PJ gave Madi her first kiss from daddy, and gave Krista her first kiss in a very long time. I'll honestly never forget the joy that PJ and Krista had that day, and the love for each other and for their daughter.

PJ & Krista, I am humbled to have been there for such a sweet moment, and I was truly blessed by seeing your reunion. I hope and pray that PJ's time here will be full of joy and learning as daddy, mommy, and daughter are all together again!

Sarah's Bridal Portraits // Virginia Beach Wedding Photographer

Gah this was such an amazing day! The light was perfect, Sarah was gorgeous, and the chilly weather just let us add a pop of color to a white dress. I'm so glad I can share these, and provide inspiration to you if you're thinking of getting bridal portraits done!

If you don't know what they are and why people get them, bridal portraits are pre-wedding portraits of just the bride. This way, you can make a big print of your favorite and put it at the reception on your big day! I truly wish I had thought of this when I got married - after all, my wedding dress was my favorite dress ever, and I only got to wear it once!

Sarah was absolutely gorgeous, and a pro at posing. It doesn't hurt that she's actually a photographer as well, so she knows a thing or two about how to work it in front of the camera. Enjoy bridal portraits from a chilly but gorgeous day!
