It often feels like the time between getting engaged and having the wedding lasts a lifetime, but for Barak and Heather, this was more true than anyone I’ve known! Their wedding was scheduled for spring 2020…and we all know approximately how the story went from there. Wanting to take all safety precautions, they live-streamed an outdoor elopement in April instead, planning on a large celebration in July.
It soon became heart-breakingly obvious that they would have to reschedule, again. After waiting and praying about making the right decision at the right time, they decided to pare down the guest list and plan on a safe, small, outdoor wedding a year after they originally planned to celebrate. When their wedding-turned-anniversary-celebration finally happened on Friday, their were too many tears of joy to count.
After a year of marriage, Barak and Heather had the unique opportunity to re-commit their lives to each other, this time in front of their families. The ceremony was a beautiful display of their love for each other and the Lord as they laughed, cried, and sang a worship song in the middle. It’s impossible to pick one favorite moment, but Heather’s first look with her dad was incredibly special, and seeing the bride and groom so excited even after living through a year of marriage together was a testimony to their faithfulness.
Barak and Heather, what an honor to finally be able to celebrate alongside you. Thank you for making the safest decisions, even when they were the hardest. Thank you for being so committed to your families that they were the priority at your wedding. Thank you for all the moments tucked away in the back of my head forever. If year one was that good, I can only imagine what the future will hold.

After getting ready, Heather had a sweet and tear-filled first look with her dad.
We went straight from one first look to another…and BIG smiles replaced all the tears :)
I loved their small ceremony out on the back deck of the Womans Club.
If you can’t tell, they were EXCITED to finally celebrate!
After the ceremony, a few friends gathered at the Chesapeake Golf Club for part 2 of the day’s celebration.
Right before the sun went down, we headed outside for a few more pictures…
Congratulations, Barak and Heather! I’m so happy you could finally celebrate!
