I have some exciting news to share...this summer, I'm going to Slovenia! If any of you know me by now, you know I have a heart for photography, traveling the world, and serving God. This July, thanks to The Good Story, I have the chance to do all three at the same time in a missions trip to central Europe. In light of this trip, I am hosting spring mini sessions in Hampton Roads to raise support and be able to go!
In mid-July, a small team (including myself) will travel to Slovenia to photograph and serve at the ReachGlobal Conference. This conference brings in missionaries from all across the world who are currently living overseas and gives them a chance to be encouraged, refreshed, and learn a ton of information to help them as they continue to serve the people who surround them. My role will be to photograph the major events as well as mini sessions for families who will be blessed by having updated family pictures.
In addition, our team will be hosting two workshops that will teach missionaries how to better communicate back home so they can stay connected to the people who support them. It is a huge problem when missionaries lack communication skills - they can fall out of touch with friends, family, and even their church, which both hurts them emotionally and financially in the long run. Our desire is to prevent this from happening by showing them valuable skills in social media, email marketing, and other great strategies.
Now you know why I'm going, so here's how you can join the effort - and get some updated family portraits in the process! I need to raise $2600 to cover fees, airfare, and lodging as I go to Slovenia. The best way I know how to do this is by taking pictures of wonderful people. Details: This will include a 15-minute session with your family of up to 6 members (including any furbabies!) and a minimum of 10 high-resolution images that you can download, print, and share, delivered within 10 days.
