What do I say about a day like this? My baby sister, who I swear was only 8 years old just a few days ago, got married this last weekend. Megan and Josiah dated for several years but when I woke up that morning, it felt like everything had happened in the blink of an eye. It was an emotional day for everyone, and as I looked around I realized our family either had huge smiles on their faces or tears of joy on their cheeks. What a beautiful memory.
As I reflect on the day, a few things stick out. One is the first look she had with my dad. I wish I could include every single one of those images, but it's hard to explain the emotion there. It's the end of an era, his last child getting married. I remember the kids - there were 9 flower girls and ring bearers! - that will show up throughout the pictures because almost all of their parents were in the bridal party (and it was a good kind of chaos!). I'll never forget the ceremony or the vows Megan and Josiah wrote to each other and delivered with voices shaking and tears flowing.
It's hard to express how amazed I am at the woman Megan has become, or how thankful we all are that she found someone like Josiah to marry. She asked him out so many years ago and has never regretted that decision. Yet over time, he has proven that his love for her and his love for God are genuine and enduring, and while it's hard to acknowledge that she is growing up and moving away, I can think of no one better to walk alongside her in life.
What you'll see throughout the day is sheer joy. The bright yellow and white wedding bouquets Megan chose match her sunny personality. The grounds of Ferrum College were the perfect place for them to laugh and kiss and revel in the fact that they are finally married. The family and friends surrounding them throughout the day made it all come together in a perfect way.
Josiah and Megan, I'm so proud of you both. You have survived a long distance relationship and handled it better than I ever could. You love each other deeply and make each other so happy. But above all, your relationships with the Lord are authentic and integral to your relationship and with that in mind, I know that your lives together will be sweet. I love you both more than I can say!

I love how they included so much family in their wedding! My brother, Josiah's brother, and his brother-in-law were all in the wedding party.
All three of us cried our eyes out during Megan's first look with my dad...
If you look closely, you may just recognize the bridesmaid on the far right...
Then came the ceremony...and yes, we were ALL as emotional as these two.
One of the highlights was a sweet foot washing ceremony...I'm assuming Megan is pretty ticklish!
Before we knew it, it was time for their fun brunch reception. Megan decorated the tables with sweet bud vases, signs handmade by our older sister, and vintage books - all of which she has read before!
This is probably my favorite detail! Our older sister made the sign, my dad made the slogan, and it made everyone laugh (Megan's new name is Sprankle!).
Congratulations, Josiah and Megan! May your joy carry you through a lifetime together.
