Jen & Ivan's Anniversary Shoot // Virginia Beach Photographer

Several months ago, I got to do something I've never done before. Jen and Ivan have been married for several years, have kids, etc. But they were never able to get portraits taken on their wedding day. It was rushed, they were tight on money, and so they don't have any pictures to remember such a special day.

That's where I came in! Jen got in a beautiful wedding dress, and Ivan got all suited up, and we headed to Red Wing Park to relive their wedding day so many years ago. It was such a sweet moment. We re-enacted a 'first look,' and then walked all around the park during sunset for some beautiful portraits.

Jen and Ivan are still so in love with each other, and they were beyond giddy and excited to get the opportunity to take pictures, even if it was a few years later. I think this was such a great idea, and I'm so blessed that I was able to be there and witness the strength of their marriage and the joy they now share in their lives together.

Jen and Ivan, it was so great to meet you, and I'm so thankful that I could be your photographer! May you have many more years of happiness and life together.

Cody // Hampton Roads Senior Portrait Photographer

This past Sunday I got to shoot some senior portraits down at Yorktown Beah with Cody and his family! Despite the crowds of people, we managed to avoid any distractions and came out with some awesome photos!

Cody is a senior this year, and is looking at some great colleges for school (including WVU and Marshall! So cool) He and I are similar in that we both run - but he didn't quit track in high school so...he's got a point there :) It was an absolute pleasure working with him, and Cody was so polite I even told him a few times that he didn't have to thank me everytime I took a picture. But I'm not complaining!

At the end, we snuck in a few family shots on the beach, and even got some with Cody's sister Emily, who is gorgeous and has awesome hair (I'm a little jealous). Good luck on your senior year, Cody! I can't wait to see where you go next year, and congratulations for making it this far!

Micah & Kelsey // Maternity

Y'all...this was probably my favorite shoot so far. I'm just so excited about it!

I've known Micah pretty much since I was born. Mostly because he's my brother =) He married Kelsey a little less than 2 years ago, and on Christmas announced to us that they're expecting their first baby. It's a girl, and I couldn't be more excited to meet her. I may have already bought her some Piglet-style leggings to wear...maybe.

This past weekend, my husband and I went to visit them for a couple days. Our time with them was short, and Micah had to work for a lot of the time we were there. Thankfully, though, we had time for a few pictures before we left. It was the middle of the day (admittedly not ideal for pictures) and we only had about 15 minutes but I couldn't have asked for a better shoot. Micah and Kelsey love each other so much, and are so excited to expand their family. And I'm so excited for them!

I can't wait to meet my niece, and I hope you share in their joy and excitement as you look through some pictures from that beautiful day.
