Adoption Mini Sessions, Part 1 // Smithfield, Virginia Family Photographer

Last weekend was one to remember! On the most gorgeous day in October I could've hoped for, ten families met me to take pictures as they supported our adoption. There were families of all ages and sizes - from a couple barely a year into marriage, to a family of six, to a whole bunch of cute dogs, the variety of people from all stages and walks of life was incredible.

I am so amazed that there was such an incredible response to our announcement, and to the mini sessions themselves! I remember right before I hit publish on my blog, wondering aloud to Nathan if ANYONE would sign up. And here I am, with 10 down and 9 more to go this weekend, blown away by the love people have shown us.

So I hope I've done justice to these families who have become a part of our story! It's hard to choose just 5 or 10 images to send, let alone one or two from the blog, but I've narrowed it down to my absolutely favorites. The only thing more exciting than this is that I'll have even more to share next week!

The Bulles Family // Windsor Castle Park Family Photographer

I've had the privilege of knowing the Bulles family for several years now, so when Kim asked if I had some availability to spend some time with their family, I absolutely jumped at the opportunity! Their oldest, Josh, came in town for the weekend, and Jeremy was going to be home as well, so it was the perfect opportunity for family portraits.

We spent the morning walking around the beautiful Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield. Kim's laugh is contagious, and it kept me smiling the entire time. Tim and her just know how to have FUN with their family - between the talking, the joking, and the awkward moments of a random unintentional photo bomber who was on a jog, the morning flew by, and so many special moments were captured.

Tim and Kim - thanks so much for letting me be a part of your family for a day! I truly had fun and enjoyed getting to know you better, and just seeing how much you two still love each other after many years! Josh - thanks for staying up way late the night before and driving all the way here for a family session. Jeremy - thanks for poking fun at your family members so their smiles and laughs were real! I am so thankful to know each one of you better after our session.

The Boyce Family // Princess Anne Country Club Family Photographer

I met the Boyce family on the most beautiful overcast day in Virginia Beach. The 9-mile traffic backup couldn't even get me down, because I was so excited to meet Lindy and her beautiful family! Lindy's husband, Matt, is the superintendent at the Princess Anne Country Club golf course, so we were able to walk all around the area and get some amazing pictures in such a gorgeous location!

You'll see some very sweet girls, and then a little rascal that just wanted to run, run, run. But oh it was so fun! I got to know each one of their little personalities, and what makes them unique. The entire family was so warm and welcoming to me, and I'm so grateful to have spent time with them before most of the family headed all the way back to Ohio after a weekend of celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

Boyce family - thank you SO much for spending the afternoon with me! I truly had a blast, and I won't soon forget the time we spent together. I hope the rest of your weekend was wonderful, and I hope to see you all again some day!
