When it comes to the wedding day, the business of each event taking place can often dictate the events as they occur. This can be both fun and stressful for everyone involved! At Vinnie and Melanie's wedding, though, the contrast of a slow day filled with long moments of peace was perfect for their personalities, and from start to finish time was our best gift.
Vinnie and Melanie were married exactly two years after their first date at St. Luke's historic church in Smithfield, Virginia's oldest church. Melanie wore the sweater she had chosen for this date that began a beautiful love story that would continue forever. With just her maid of honor by her side, we laughed and chatted the morning away as the ceremony time approached. Vinnie, his nerves slowly growing as each minute passed, chose to have his brother Steven stand by his side as he said I do.
If I could choose one word to describe Vinnie and Melanie together it would be 'gentle.' These two are tender with each other, kind to their friends and family, and continually thanked each person who came to celebrate at their Smithfield Inn reception. My favorite moments happened when Vinnie would protectively wrap his dainty bride in his arms, holding her close as they began their lifetime together.

Because Melanie created a timeline with so much space in it we were able to capture iconic bridal portraits that are sure to be treasured for years.
After she was dressed and ready Melanie shared a sweet 'first look' moment with her dad before the ceremony.
After the groomsmen got ready it was time for the wedding ceremony at St. Luke's chapel.
Vinnie couldn't help but smile when he saw his bride walking down the aisle.
Melanie was a STUNNING bride!
We headed over to their wedding reception for cake cutting and toasts shortly after they arrived.
Around sunset we snuck outside for a few last minute portraits...
There was dancing, so much food, and lots of joy before Vinnie and Melanie drove away into the sunset!
