Hurricane Florence was a nightmare for so many people last weekend, and continues to cause devastation throughout the Carolinas and beyond. The severity of what could have been in Virginia was sobering, so when it looked like the eye of the storm was heading for Hampton Roads, everything shut down - people evacuated, plans were cancelled, and everyone settled in for the unknown. And then - nothing happened. There was hardly any rain, let alone a hurricane, and just like that everything was back to normal.

For Harrison and Lauren, their entire wedding was changed. At the last minute they were left without a venue or a plan. A day that should have been at the Planter’s Club was suddenly moved to his parents’ house. Vendors changed, the vision was different, and truthfully, everyone should have been emotional on Saturday - and not necessarily in a good way!

To know Jessi well, seeing her interact with her students is a must. She is the kind of teacher whose kids crowd around her, the kind of person who stops to hug them as she walks down the aisle during her own wedding, and the kind of person who everyone loves to be around. Charles has the exact same gift with the people who surround him, and together their personalities are simply magnetic. Both are completely in love with each other and, most of all, excited to serve the Lord together as they become husband and wife.

For a gorgeous summery day in July Jessi chose teal accents to highlight her unique and fun demeanor. The ladies dressed in the same color as they surrounded Jessi, each one honored to stand by her side as she married the man of her dreams. Her gorgeous bouquet was filled with pink and white roses, set against her dress' lacy overlay, making a beautiful combination for an absolutely stunning bride. On top of that, when Charles and Jessi kissed at the altar it was the first one they shared - EVER! Waiting for that moment made the day and the entire wedding absolutely unforgettable...

Best of 2015: Rings | Business

I have a confession: I did something kind of silly. Last year I invest in the 105mm macro, which I pull out for approximately 5-10 minutes during weddings and engagements. And let’s just say…it was a pretty big investment. This year, I wanted to make sure the lens was worth what I paid – so I worked on getting killer ring shots first to serve my brides and grooms, and then to push myself creatively!

What happened was fantastic for me and for my couples. With each engagement session or wedding, I continued to find new places for the rings – my absolute favorite this year has been the shots in tulle. Scroll down to see what I mean! So without further ado, here is some eye candy…and a whole lot of justification for buying that lens ;)
