Southern Living + Other Recent Features | Business

During my trip to Africa a few weeks ago, I remained as present as possible by continuing business 'as normal' so I would be focused on what I was doing and not what I had to post. While I was there I received email after email about new features for weddings and more! Since I could not share them all - and there were so many! - I now want to highlight each one of them because I am so grateful that other websites and blogs choose to share my work! And...I GOT FEATURED IN SOUTHERN LIVING!!!

So without further ado, here are some of my recent features...

Downtown Norfolk Wedding | Norfolk Wedding Photographer | Chris + Dana

I have been waiting all year to write this blog, and it's finally here! Chris and Dana have such an amazing story that became the highlight of their wedding day. Years ago, when they were much younger, these two got married without telling anyone. They had two beautiful twin boys together but after several deployments and the hardships of life they got divorced after 5 years.

Anyone can say that marriage is hard, but these two have lived the difficulties. Everything from miscommunications to time spent apart can lead to a result you could never have imagined when you say "I do" to your spouse. But with these two, divorce was not the end of their story. They maintained a friendship and continued to parent their sons and in just 3 years time they began to fall back in love with each other. Last August Chris used Dana's birthday as an excuse to throw a surprise party in the Paragon Theater, ending with Chris down on one knee to ask the love of his life to be his forever - again...

Our First Hampton Roads DIY Bride Workshop | Business

Well, we did it! It's hard to believe, but less than a week ago we held out very first Hampton Roads DIY Bride Workshop. I previously introduced what the workshop was in this post, and on Saturday all our plans came to fruition.

We met our lovely brides-to-be at The Starving Artist Studio in Port Warwick, one of my favorite places in Newport News. With some snacks in hand and worksheets in front of them, the workshop began. Jackie kicked us off with an incredible walk-through of how to build a wedding budget, complete with a sheet that broke down how much brides should spend on each wedding vendor. After that, she talked through a wedding planning timeline, from when to send out save the dates to what you should be doing 2 weeks prior to your wedding.
