It is absolutely THE most amazing thing in the world to me that I get to share in the most special moments of our friends' lives because I am a photographer! This moment is something both Nathan and I had been anticipating for a long time. Nathan knows Carson through his former band, Fox Hole Kingdom, and we have gotten to know these two since before they even became a couple.
I could tell that Carson wanted to make everything perfect for his proposal to Grace. Of course he wanted the moment documented, and we were more than happy to be there! He and I had secretly been texting for weeks, and the all of us (minus Grace, of course!) even drove down to the Norfolk Pagoda Garden just to scout it out. Carson set a date for the proposal, made reservations at Voila just down the street, and mapped out what would be a perfect day.
It felt like an eternity that we hid in the bushes waiting for these two to stand in front of the water, but finally the moment came. Carson put his arm around Grace as he talked, then got down on one knee as she stared on in disbelief. Apparently he had been teasing her for weeks saying he would propose, so when the time finally came she did not believe him! Of course she said yes, and the rest will soon be history. I am so grateful we got to witness such a sweet and emotional moment (yep, I cried a little), and I am beyond excited for these two as they begin their lives together! Oh and side note - check out that GORGEOUS blue sapphire ring! It's a stunner!
