Our West Coast Vacation, Part 2 // Personal

The day has arrived! I can't believe it. We've spent the last 5ish months planning this trip, and it's finally here! We are on the plane right now headed to a West Coast excursion with some of our sweet friends. And as I write this, I keep wanting to pinch myself because I'm finally fulfilling a lifelong dream to visit Seattle!

As much as I love the beach, I am not someone who can just lay out in the sun for a week straight. I would like that for a day or two, but after that I'd want to get up and GO. Nathan knows this from experience, because for our Disney World honeymoon, I kept us going from 9am-9pm or later to make our time worth it.

For some reason, I've always been drawn to Seattle. I don't know if it's because I love rainy days, or if it's because the West Coast has so many incredible foodie locations, but I have always wanted to go. My biggest fear is honestly that I'm not going to want to turn around and come back home once I get there! I guess that's one reason it's good for Nathan to go with me, because I don't think you could pay him to live in a city that averages 226 cloudy days every year.

But either way, I am just so thankful that I finally get to visit. Combined with a short visit to sunny California, and a few days in Portland, I am full of nervous energy and excitement. I had the hardest time sleeping last night, because I just want it to be here! Can you tell by all my exclamation points?!

So here's to vacations, and taking time away. Here's to turning off my email and living in the moment. Here's to crazy vegan restaurants and one epic hike. Here's to spending time with friends for days on end. Here's to eating whatever we want, whenever we want, and not living by a schedule. Here's to one amazing vacation...and it has just begun!
