A Crazy Fun Giveaway! // Spady Sunday

Sometimes people have awesome ideas and other times...not so much. But the most fun ideas are those that have yet to be tested! That's the thinking behind today's giveaway. But let me start with a little explanation...

It can be easy as a photographer, or any kind of worker, to do what you've always done. To work at the same places, with the same people. It's easy for your job to become EASY, when it should be a daily challenge and opportunity for growth. If I never grow as a photographer, and learn new things, then my pictures and ideas will simply become stale. For that reason, I take every opportunity I can to learn more - this fall I've been to two workshops and two styled shoots, and I'm excited about another lighting intensive coming up this January!

Beyond that, though, I have a desire to challenge myself and do things that push me past doing the same thing every time. I am happy with the pictures I'm taking now, but I hope a year from now I can be better than I am at this moment!

So, here comes the fun giveaway part. I am fascinated by black and white pictures, and they are consistently some of my most favorite images that I deliver at each wedding and portrait session. I truly get excited when I make a picture black and white, and it looks even better than it did in color.

Black and white pictures add a lot of simplicity to a picture. They take away anything distracting and bring the focus in on the subject, whether it's a bride, your spouse, your kids, or anything else. They add depth to a picture because you have to almost look through the image instead of at it. I think black and white images challenge my imagination in new ways.

That being said, I want to give away a session that I will shoot exclusively in black and white! I realize that is not everyone's cup of tea, and that's why this is a crazy idea in some ways. But if you value black and white photography, or just want a family session done and you're excited about trying something new - email me!

I'll keep this opportunity open until Saturday! If you would like a FREE black and white portrait session, email me at mariagracephotography@gmail.com and let me know why you want it. I'm so excited about this, and I hope you are, too! In the meantime, enjoy some of my black and white favorites from this past year.
