Eagle Harbor

I've been challenging myself lately to go around and just take pictures of familiar places, and try to do something with it. This past week, I took pictures around the Eagle Harbor neighborhood of Carrollton (and...ahem...maybe a picture of my dog). The lighting wasn't particularly great to work with, so I had to be creative, but I'm really happy with the results. And, even though the sky is gray and dark, that's how it's been around here for awhile, so it should look familiar to you!

Norfolk // Urban

Happy Labor Day everyone! As much as I appreciate having the day off work, I appreciate even more those who still had to work today, even though so many people did not. For our day off, the hubby surprised me by taking me to downtown Norfolk to photograph urban scenery. To be honest, it was a little harder than I thought. I really had to work around the buildings that are already there, and a lot of times, I couldn't get the angle I wanted and had to improvise a little. That said, I'm happy with the results and I'm looking forward to going back sometime and shooting some more when the rain doesn't interrupt our time there.

I think it's pretty cool that there's a beautiful old church in the middle of an urban area
