Historic Post Office Elopement | Aaron + Liz

Historic Post Office Elopement | Aaron + Liz

Some of the most special moments - and the times I learned the most about Aaron and Liz’s relationship - came when both of their mothers gave special toasts to the bride and groom. At first, Liz decided that Aaron wasn’t date-able, but it wasn’t long before he took her on a date, met her parents, and charmed her thoroughly over the course of a year and a half. Both of them serve in the Air Force, share similar life goals, and have the same laid-back, joyful demeanor.

For two military members, the Fourth of July was the best place to plan their micro-wedding, and the all-in-one elopement at The Historic Post Office allowed them to experience as little stress as possible amidst all the details of wedding planning. Only a few guests were there to witness Aaron and Liz say I do, but they were the most important people to have - and all of them were hands down some of the most FUN people I’ve ever met! Regardless of the small crowd, the dance floor stayed packed and almost everyone stayed until the sparkler exit…

Langley Air Force Base Military Wedding | Hunter + Mabree

Langley Air Force Base Military Wedding | Hunter + Mabree

Hunter and Mabree’s wedding almost didn’t happen. They met in high school and dated for awhile, but eventually she broke his heart when she said that while she couldn’t date him anymore, she hoped they would get married someday. As fairytales go this one ranks near the top, because years later they re-connected, this time for good. Years of long distance strengthened them, and one spring day on a dock by the water in his home state of Alabama, Hunter proposed…and the rest is history!

Since Hunter’s family has a longstanding tradition of being stationed at Langley Air Force Base, they knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding day. Mabree is a makeup QUEEN, so all of the girls looked amazing when I arrived - none more so than the bride herself. Blush bridesmaid dresses and gold wedding details added a touch of elegance to an already beautiful day, but my favorite moment of all was witnessing the tears Hunter shed as he watched his future wife walk down the aisle. Her father married them in an incredibly memorable ceremony, and I doubt there was a dry eye in the room…

Two Rivers Country Club Wedding | Josh + Lauren

Two Rivers Country Club Wedding | Josh + Lauren

We heard their story over and over, told in so many different ways, each a reminder of how amazing it really is that Josh and Lauren met each other. She lived in Hampton Roads and decided to take a job at Water Country USA, while he lived in the UK…and decided to visit a little town called Williamsburg for a summer at a water-themed amusement park. He couldn’t have predicted that his supervisor would, 5 years later, become his wife.

They have traveled the world together, spanning oceans and continents, but both said in their impromptu speeches that each location felt like home because they were with each other. Their wedding was a beautiful blend of customs from their background and the Jewish wedding traditions that made this day unlike any other. From signing a ketubah to adorning her parents with flower crowns at the reception, each event was filled with joy and a lot of VERY excited people.

Set right on the James River outside of Williamsburg, weddings at Two Rivers Country Club are always stunning. Lauren chose the perfect rose gold details (rings and bridesmaid dresses and table numbers), and her cascading white lily bouquet was gorgeous. It amazed me that about half of the wedding guests came all the way from England to be at their special day, and most of the other half has traveled there to meet Josh! The dedication from the couple to their family and friends, and vise versa, was evident in every moment, and Lauren’s joy was all over her face from start to finish…
