My Crazy Family! // Spady Sunday

I can't believe I've been blogging for so long, and this is the first time I've devoted an entire blog post to my family! Obviously, I've mentioned them all before, and I wrote a blog for my dad a little while ago, but I've never really talked about my family as a whole. Over Christmas, I got to spend time with all of them, which is such a treat. Whenever you grow up and you move, or your brothers & sisters move, or both, it becomes a lot harder to see everyone, and times when we can all be together are few and far between.

But...they are always worth the wait. Over the years, through all the ups and downs of life, we have only grown closer to each other despite the distance. I have a great relationship with each and every person in my family, and it's just so exciting to add to the family through the years with spouses and now a baby!

So without further ado, here's a little bit about my family!

Dad is one of the hardest working people I know, but one of the most fun people I've ever known. He can make me laugh until I cry every time we get together, and I always look forward to sipping a pot of tea with him one afternoon during my visit and talking about life.

Mom is the quieter of the two between Dad and her, but that doesn't mean she's any less important. Mom is always looking for ways to help people and shows her love in amazing meals and sweet gestures. The older I get, the more I realize I'm becoming like her.

Mae is my older sister, and one of my best friends. She and I have a bad habit of talking to each other for an hour or two on the way to visit one another. I could probably talk to her every day of the week and not get bored. She is a hard worker and such a dedicated person, in every area of her life.

Micah is my older brother, and he's probably changed more than any of my siblings over the years - all for the better. This year, I've watched him grow and become a new dad. He loves his daughter more than anything (besides Kelsey), and he sets an amazing example for Nathan and I.

Kelsey is my sister-in-law and if anyone was born  to be a wife and a mother, it's her. She has unlimited patience with Grace, and fits right in with our family. From the first time I met her, I knew she was perfect for Micah. She was then, and still is now.

Grace is my niece. And I love her. And she's 5 months old and has the best laugh in the world. And...a million other things :)

Megan is the best younger sister ever! She's a senior in high school (ahh that's crazy!) and just got accepted to George Mason. I couldn't be more proud of her! She is such a helpful person and a joy to be around.

Also...honorable mention to my Uncle Joe and Aunt Sue. I have a lot more extended family that I haven't mentioned for the sake of length and time but since they make an appearance in the picture below, I have to say that they are such good role models in my life! They both pray for me and were so constant in my life while I was struggling through surgery. I'm so thankful for them!

I'll wrap up with a picture of the best people in my life. Love you all!

My name is Maria, and I am a wedding and family photographer based out of Hampton Roads, Virginia, but I am always excited about traveling. I love families who truly enjoy spending time with each other and living life together. I love couples that are looking forward to their wedding day because they are so excited to finally be married to.
